Dato’ Seri Dr. Mohamad Zabidi Ahmad was elected President of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) in December 2023, building on his prior role as a Council Member. His term completed in December 2025 and still continue as Council members. His extensive career in financial services, combined with his strategic leadership, underpins his position as an Independent Non-Executive Director at BIMB Investment Management.

He is a seasoned leader with over 38 years of experience across corporate and investment banking, assets management, risk, audit, compliance, and accounting. His core expertise was honed over 19 years in senior roles at CIMB Group, where he was responsible for developing the Group’s regional Islamic Treasury franchise. This well-rounded background provides a comprehensive perspective on governance, risk, information technology and sustainability, essential for his non-executive directorship.

Currently, he serves as the Senior Strategic Advisor & Regional Director for DDGI Limited Overseas Branches in Malaysia.

Dr. Zabidi’s academic credentials include a Doctorate in Business Administration (UUM), a Bachelor’s in Accounting (UiTM), and executive certifications from Oxford University (Leadership) and the University of Cambridge (Sustainable Finance). He is a qualified accountant (MIA, MICPA, ASEAN CPA) and holds distinguished professional certifications in Islamic Finance (CPIF) and corporate directorship (ICDM).
