Dato’ Seri Dr. Raymond Liew (DSRL) is an Entrepreneur Chartered Accountant and holds a Professional Doctorate (DrS) (UK), a Master Business Administration (MBA) degree from Henley Management College, UK, a corporate advisor with many years of extensive work experience with professional firms and multi-national companies in brand repositioning, corporate advisory, insolvency, Mergers & Acquisitions to include corporate tax planning, investigative & forensic reviews; VAT/GST/SST related exercises; and has since assisted in numerous corporate turnarounds and related due diligence corporate exercises.

DSRL is the Founding President of McMillan Woods, an independent member firm of McMillan Woods Global, headquartered in the United Kingdom and is one of the pioneer global networks to recognise the industry stalwarts – the crème de la crème global leaders. DSRL also represents several organisations in their quests for global prestigious award recognition and was appointed the Chief Judge in 2019 for the BioNexus Awards by the Ministry of Science Technology & Innovation, a governmental initiative in Malaysia.

With his extensive work knowledge, DSRL is a regular writer of technical and financial articles and is a frequent speaker at various professional seminars, conferences and training programmes. He has been a Trustee of the Malaysian Accountancy Research & Education Foundation since 2001; and was a Council member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (2001-2013) (MIA); and the Chartered Taxation Institute of Malaysia (2005- 2013) (CTIM); and a Council member of the local ACCA Malaysian office in 2000. DSRL was also an appointed adjudicator for the National Annual Corporate Report Awards in 2001 to 2020.

DSRL has acted as an Expert Witness in court for an insolvency exercise where he was tasked to comment on various treatment of actions taken by another fellow insolvency practitioner. He was also tasked to comment on various treatment of expenses, as in the case of Joint Management Body (JMB), which exercise is similar to those that he acted as an Expert Witness. He also appeared in numerous occasions for a listed company in the Kuala Lumpur High Court to testify on certain treatment of expenses and its allocation.

Under the McM Cares Programme, DSRL plays a pivoted role in the Corporate Socially Responsible (CSR) initiative drive and has continued to pledge a substantial financial contribution to various charities each year to the underprivileged society. Currently, DSRL is an honourary advisor to several organisations; two of which are the Malaysian Association of Theme Park & Family Attractions (MATFA) & the Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA); and was a senior Independent Director of three (3) listed entities and assumed the chairmanship of both the Audit and Nomination Committees.
